ElleMcLin.com: How are you Mr. $hynePhre$h?
$hynePhre$h: Doing better than ever.
ElleMcLin.com: Who is $hynePhre$h the artist and who is $hynePhre$h the man?
$hynePhre$h: $hynephre$h, “The Artist”, is this bubbly personality. He’s lit at all times. He’s always cracking jokes and surfing through his beat collection for the next big power move. $hynephre$h, “The Man”, Is God-fearing first. Then a loving and caring father and spouse second. Nothing else matters when I’m inside that circle.
ElleMcLin: What sets you apart from all the other rappers in today’s music?
$hynePhre$h: Versatility and Authenticity. Plus, the fact that I am in my own lane.
ElleMcLin.com: How do you feel about today’s music?
$hynePhre$h: I think today’s music is trash with the exception of a handful. It’s plagued with young naïve minds. Everybody thinks this is a method for a way out. So it’s just saturated with bullshit. I don’t think a lot of these people actually sit back and listen to the playbacks. And who in the fuck are letting these people record? Engineers shouldn’t even take the money from these bums. All you hear is music being recycled. One guy is trying to outdo what the next guy already did. There is no originality. So music today is trash. My opinion.
ElleMcLin.com: Do you like poetry? Who are some of your favorite poets?
$hynePhre$h: Tupac was my favorite poet.
ElleMcLin.com: Outside of your song lyrics, have you ever written or performed poetry?
$hynePhre$h: No, I have never attempted to write or perform Poetry. It was something I never got into.
ElleMcLin.com: Do you like to read, if so what books would you recommend to our audience?
$hynePhre$h: Man I used to be into a shit ton of urban novels. That’s changed because these niggas started to be Doctors and lawyers and pharmacy moguls LOL. But still running a deadly drug empire and killing up the city LOL. That shit just started getting way too false. Then I started to read Action novels and these mufuckaz We’re just pulling off too much John Wayne shit LOL. So then again, it was just too unrealistic. So now the only thing I’m reading is facts. Newspapers, magazines and good intriguing articles whenever I can come across them.
ElleMcLin.com: Have you ever considered writing a book yourself? If so, what would it be about?
$hynePhre$h: Not really except for when I was in jail. But my lifestyle was too wild at the time. I’d be incriminating myself. Because I just have to keep it real. So therefore, in order to dodge the fake shit, I left that idea long.
ElleMcLin.com: Could you tell the readers about your current single “Ugly”? What’s it about and how would you describe the song?
$hynePhre$h: Well ugly is just something to get noticed with. If that makes any sense? I like to keep things on the hyper side when doing music. But that’s not my best strength. But the song is definitely street. It’s a banger for sure. You can hit the club with this one. You can ride to it. It’s definitely one you won’t be skipping. The instrumental hate me so hype, I had to drop some gangster shit to it. But it’s live through and through. With a mixture of some fire ass Melodies. LOL you can’t beat that.
ElleMcLin: Is there anything you would like the readers to know about you that wasn’t covered in this interview?
$hynePhre$h: Nah, I’ma just leave a lil something for the imagination.
